Cave description:
The main entrance of the cave opens at the end of the She Ga blind valley, which is crossed by a perennial stream (Zorzin & Melotti, 1995).
At the time of the exploration (08/19/94) the discharge was 3 m3/s. During long and intense rains, the level of the subterranean river rises to about 5-6 m, and in unusual cases it can be 10 m higher than the normal level. The cave has a wide entrance, 35 m high and 20 m large, where the surface-river sinks. A secondary entrance opens higher up in the valley, at an altitude of 1931 m a.s.l.; it connects to a series of galleries which are accessible except for some passages which are difficult and dangerous, due to the abundant collapsed material. These galleries connect through a majestic talus cone with the main branch of the active gallery in its initial section.
A thick layer of sand-clay and clay-sand of brownish color covers the easternmost section of the cone to a height of 18 m from the active streambed. Terraced layers of sand and pebble a few meters higher than the streambed are deposited in the central and terminal section of the main gallery. The system “Lo Shui Dong” develops inside Lower Permian grey limestone, along a synclinal.
The cave karstic system has been estimated to be more than 40 km long; the straight distance between the sinkhole and the resurgence is about 30 km. (R. Zorzin)

Results of the 13 expeditions organized by the Museo Civico di Storia Naturale of Verona to southern China. One-hundred-twenty-five caves were explored, for a total of more than 60 km in length. For each cave we list the progressive number, the cadastral number, the type of research conducted and a short description of the cave. Most of the caves are located in Guizhou Province, in Qianxi County. The hydrogeology, biology, geography and archaeology of the area were investigated during the scientific expeditions. 40 pages, No caves maps, 21 photos.
