Résumé :
From April 8 to April 21, 2019, the sixth consecutive expedition of the Czech Speleological Society and the Geological Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic operated in the Chinese province of Shaanxi.
The main objective of the expedition was to continue the exploration and documentation of Tianxingyan (Sky Star) Cave and Boniukeng Cave and attempt to connect them with each other. During a five-day stay in Tianxingyang, it was possible to overcome a more than 700m long lake, which prevented further progress last year, and to discover more than 2km of huge corridors behind it. Together with a number of detours, it was possible to discover more than 3.8 km of new spaces in the cave, making the cave 12,930 m long.
In the Boniukeng Cave, a challenging continuation of 570 m was discovered, bringing the length of the cave to 2,364 m and a depth of 323 m. However, the connection of the two caves was not successful, there is still almost 300 m unknown between the end points.
The survey was also started in the Baishuidong spring cave, where water flows from both of the aforementioned caves. Here it was possible to discover 828 m, where the further progress is closed by a siphon.
In total, the members of the expedition discovered and mapped 5,865 m.
