Cave description:
The cave opens with a large entrance at the contact between the limestone and the impermeable formations below. It is the sink for one of the main rivers that run in the area north of Honglin Town. Part of the ceiling near the entrance has collapsed, forming a natural bridge below which, about 30 m above the subterranean river bed, we discovered a monogenic conglomerate similar to that of Pudding-Stone cave. The collapse shaft opens between the school and the ex police station, it has been used for a long time as a waste disposal area. Inside the cave there are several defence devices walls. The cave ends in a siphon located near a calcitic curtain. During the expeditions “Guizhou 2002” and “Guizhou 2003” Tinopal and Fluorescein were used as dyes to follow the subterranean river.
