A sino-french expedition explored and mapped in 1989 a total of 57 km of caves; the main target of the expedition was the cave system formed by the Gebihe river and the Shuitanghe river draining 2400 sqkm; the system is excavated in Carboniferous limestone and consists of an Upstream section (7,75 km/-418 m, beginning with two sinks) and a Downstream section (4,15 km/+100 m, with the resurgence). A geomorphological evolutioon scheme is proposed. (RB)
