Cave description:

This cave is the sink of one of the allogenetic streams flowing from the impervious area north of the karst. After several meters from the entrance the cave splits in two branches in a large collapsed gallery fed by a small and polluted stream whose water comes from the nearby Hongling town, probably from Liao Jing Ling Dong, a sinkhole polluted by a factory. The entrance branch act as an inlet reaching the deeper gallery through a 20 m deep shaft. Regressive erosion along the branch caused a very deep and tight vadose entrenchment. The cave needs to be more accurately explored.

Results of the 13 expeditions organized by the Museo Civico di Storia Naturale of Verona to southern China. One-hundred-twenty-five caves were explored, for a total of more than 60 km in length. For each cave we list the progressive number, the cadastral number, the type of research conducted and a short description of the cave. Most of the caves are located in Guizhou Province, in Qianxi County. The hydrogeology, biology, geography and archaeology of the area were investigated during the scientific expeditions. 40 pages, No caves maps, 21 photos.

The Verona Museum research in China caves led to a record in the field of an higth number of taxa. Some of them have not yet been identified at the species level, some were already studied, and some are still in study. In this paper, after a brief history of biospeleological research in China, the list of fauna collected in each cave is provided. An ecological and biogeografical analysis on cave fauna of the investigated Provinces is provided. 24 pages, 14 photos, 1 map.
